The latest 12th season of Odessa Fashion Day has come to an end — a festival of fashion and design art. Designers from Odesa, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and other cities across Ukraine delighted guests with their new collections. This time, the designers’ creations were presented over three days in the spacious hall of the garden pavilion at Riviera Shopping Centre.
Guests enjoyed 20 collections by Ukrainian designers focused on the Spring-Summer 2016 season, including four presentations of children’s clothing, four of menswear, and the rest dedicated to womenswear.
As part of the fashion forum, there was also a presentation of works by Neonila Yefimova, created in ink in the style of Japanese sumi-e painting, which blended naturally into the atmosphere of beauty and style.
In addition to the runway shows, visitors were able to attend presentations and masterclasses, as well as visit the traditional OFD Fashion Shopping Place — a shopping area for those who wanted to purchase the most fashionable pieces of the season. Alongside clothing, visitors could also find Ukrainian cosmetics, a new tea brand, handmade eyewear, eco-friendly boots with jute soles, jewellery, and more.
One of the standout moments of the Odesa fashion days was the presentation of the “Women for Children” project. Representatives of the Odesa Club of Successful Women presented clothing designs they had created themselves. Funds raised from the sale of these pieces will be transferred to children’s charities.
On the final day of the shows, the focus shifted to fashion for men. The fully menswear collection by KAPSAMUN was followed by the mixed collection Tomashevsky, while the forum concluded with a presentation by Niki’s Models. The final show surprised the audience with an original performance: during the presentation, several young men and women suddenly stood up from their seats and began performing expressive choreographic movements in front of the astonished guests.
According to the permanent organiser of Odessa Fashion Day, Kostiantyn Lieontiev, the main goal of the project is to help Ukrainian designers promote their collections on national and international markets. Such a fashion festival is an excellent starting point and a chance to gain valuable experience for emerging designers. At the same time, established names also take part with pleasure, while guests try not to miss a single show and, together with Odessa Fashion Day host Kateryna Makedonska — who sang before the presentation of each collection, adding a special atmosphere to the event — pass on a heartfelt thank you to Kostiantyn Lieontiev for the celebration he created.
See you at the 13th season of Odessa Fashion Day!
