From 6 to 8 November 2026, Odesa will host the 33rd season of Odessa Fashion Day, titled UNDEFINED. The programme will bring together Ukrainian designer runway shows, educational events and fashion presentations, exploring freedom of expression, identity and the right to be yourself beyond society’s expectations and established standards of beauty.
Over three days, independent Ukrainian designers, emerging creatives, educators and fashion professionals will come together at venues across Odesa. This season’s concept focuses on personal stories and experiences that cannot be contained within a single definition. UNDEFINED approaches fashion not only through clothing and appearance, but also through the ability to accept oneself and decide independently who one wishes to be.
UNDEFINED: The Freedom to Be Yourself
Some cities cannot be defined by a single word. Some people cannot be contained within familiar expectations. Some forms of beauty exist beyond shape, age, gender and society’s ideas of what they should be. Odesa has always been a city whose identity has been shaped by different cultures, traditions and individual stories. Its architectural heritage, maritime history and openness to the world have created an environment in which change has become a natural part of cultural life.
Today, as Ukraine continues to live through Russia’s full-scale invasion, questions of identity have taken on new meaning. War changes cities, people’s lives, their relationship with their bodies and their sense of the future. Yet the circumstances a person has lived through cannot ultimately determine who they are, how they should look, what they should feel or how they express themselves. This idea lies at the heart of Odessa Fashion Day’s 33rd season, which explores beauty beyond conventional standards and the right to individuality.
UNDEFINED means refusing to let circumstances define who we are.
Within this concept, vulnerability is not presented as the opposite of strength, but as one of its expressions. Imperfection is no longer treated as the opposite of beauty, and fashion becomes a space for personal stories, creative experimentation and reconsidering familiar ideas about appearance. The intention is not to introduce another ideal of beauty, but to question why anyone should be expected to meet a particular ideal in the first place.
Oleksandr Piven: The Face of the Official Season 33 Campaign
The central figure of the UNDEFINED campaign is Oleksandr Piven, an actor and stage-speech teacher who has spent many years helping people find their voice and develop confidence in self-expression. After being injured in a missile strike, Oleksandr went through a difficult period in which he struggled to recognise his own beauty. Taking part in the fashion shoot became a personal experience of reconnecting with himself, accepting his body and rediscovering inner freedom.
The campaign’s visual language is shaped by the interplay of light and shadow, the movement of the body and the expressive forms of a look by Valer.experience. Androgynous aesthetics, contrasting textures and theatrical movement create an artistic dialogue between fragility and confidence, openness and protection, external expectations and inner freedom. Oleksandr’s personal story provides the starting point for a wider conversation about self-acceptance and the right to define one’s own reflection — or to reject the need for a definition altogether.
33 Seasons of Ukrainian Fashion
Founded in Odesa in 2010, Odessa Fashion Day has spent sixteen years creating professional opportunities for independent designers, emerging talent and people working across the creative industries. During this time, the project has witnessed profound social and cultural transformations, changes within the fashion industry and a rethinking of the role of Ukrainian design. Its seasons have brought together not only new collections, but also the people building fashion brands and working in education, manufacturing and media.
Despite the war, Odessa Fashion Day continues its work, maintaining a space for creativity, professional development and dialogue between designers, educational institutions, media and the international fashion community. In a city that continues to live and work amid daily challenges, fashion is not a way of turning away from reality, but an opportunity to speak about it through art, individuality and personal stories.

Ukrainian Fashion Beyond the Circumstances of War
The 33rd season of Odessa Fashion Day is a reminder that Ukrainian fashion should not be defined solely by the circumstances of war, even when war affects every aspect of life. Fashion continues to explore aesthetics, ask questions, introduce new names and create its own cultural context. Behind every collection are people with their own experiences, perspectives and determination to remain part of the creative industry.
Odesa cannot be defined only by war. A person cannot be defined only by the trauma they have experienced. Beauty cannot be defined only by external standards, nor the future only by the circumstances of the present. UNDEFINED is therefore not about an absence of identity, but the freedom to exist beyond a single definition.
Beyond definition. Beyond circumstance. Still becoming.
