15th Season of Odessa Fashion Day: Spring Campaign Presented

From 6 to 9 April, across three locations, the main fashion event of southern Ukraine — the 15th season of Odessa Fashion Day — will take place.

Such a large-scale event requires careful preparation. One of the distinctive features of Odessa Fashion Day is the presentation not only of already established designer brands, but also of new names.

The campaign shoot took place at Mysse Studio. The face of the spring project became model Kateryna Vlasova from Art-Podium Model Agency.

Kateryna has been working in modelling since the age of sixteen and works mainly in Milan, Istanbul, and other European cities, so the OFD shoot became her first major project in Ukraine.

“It was a cold and early morning, but the team welcomed me warmly, and the shoot went easily and naturally. After spending three months in another country, I can say that it is real happiness when people understand you and speak your native language,” Kateryna shared.

The dress for the campaign heroine was created by Karina Bendus, founder of the brand Svoe, while Dyrberg/Kern jewellery perfectly completed the look.

The dress designed by Karina for OFD will become part of the new Breath collection, which will be presented on 18 February at Ukrainian Trend Store “-1” in Greek Shopping Centre.

The Breath collection is a breath of air after a dull winter. A rich palette, a variety of textures, and expressive looks define it. The transition from winter to spring is symbolised through the combination of warm and dense materials with light and airy fabrics.

“Spring is a time of awakening and reset. For the fifteenth OFD, we as the project organisers envisioned a harmonious, clean, and light image,” said OFD producer Denys Korotkyi.

Make-up was created by make-up artist Marianna Vakulenko, while the hairstyle was done by stylist Tetiana Tryhuba. Both are graduates of MARAMAX ACADEMY and true professionals in their field.

“For Academy graduates, participation in Odessa Fashion Day means new experience, vivid impressions, and of course the opportunity to become part of OFD,” commented Olha Makarova, director of MARAMAX ACADEMY.

For the campaign shoot, the organisers invited two photographers — or rather, a family team. Viacheslav Kotliarenko has been the project’s official photographer for many seasons.

“A poster is the face of the project for the next six months, so I wanted to leave my mark on the history of OFD. The shoot was done by my wife Kateryna — she has a very precise creative eye,” said Viacheslav Kotliarenko.

“Inspiration came already during the discussion of the concept and the planning of the shoot and the frame itself. We wanted to achieve a light, airy, and philosophical image without overloading the overall picture. Thanks to teamwork with the organisers, make-up artists, the model, and the designer, it became possible to achieve the result we had all hoped for. This is only the beginning of my work with the project, and I am sure that in the future we will surprise followers and experts with our joint work more than once,” photographer Kateryna Kotliarenko said.
