The Odessa Fashion Day project brought together 8 designers in one fashion space. The task set for the designers was to show the ordinary in an unusual way.
The exhibition itself resembled a magical forest and its strange inhabitants. A skeleton dressed in a gown by Katerina Makarova, an oak tree harmoniously paired with a dress by KEKA, a drum set by Baukh, an incredible mannequin made of metal rings presenting a look by KEOSME, a bright and mysterious lady by Alla Frenkel, a figure in hay by Miniature, an elegant image by Vlas Na, and an alien creature by Guash.
The organising committee of Ukrainian Fashion Week has always supported young talent and created comfortable conditions for growth. That is why in 2000 the young fashion designers competition A Look into the Future was created, in 2003 the New Names project appeared, and in 2006 Fresh Fashion was launched. This season, Ukrainian Fashion Week presented an independent platform for the younger generation — Fresh Fashion Day.
As part of the event, which took place on 17 October, shows by the “new generation” of Ukrainian fashion were held, including Daria Galushka, Sistan VARVARA, SADOVSKAYA for Gepur, Niki’s, DIA, and DIHTYAR. Ten Fresh Fashion brands that already have achievements in Ukraine and beyond also presented their collections: LAKSMI by Maryana Steshenko, Nadia YURKIV, ROUSSIN by Sofia Rousinovich, CHUYKO, Holly by Timkova-Liakhovska, SaZhina, Dastish Fantastish, J.Perekriostova, and Kir-Khartley. A guest of Fresh Fashion Day was designer Tikota Unique from Belarus.
In turn, the Ukrainian brand ROUSSIN by Sofia Rousinovich will take part in Belarus Fashion Week. The official partners of Fresh Fashion Day were Hyundai and DHL, the global leader in express delivery and logistics. As part of Ukrainian Fashion Week, DEC education held educational events in fashion, design, and style, and also supported the Fresh Fashion Day project for young designers.
