London Fashion Day to Present Season 8, PAST. PRESENT. NEXT., at Historic Porchester Hall

On 8 November 2026, London Fashion Day (LFD) will present its eighth season in London. The international fashion platform will introduce PAST. PRESENT. NEXT., a concept dedicated to cultural heritage, creative identity and the future of fashion. Throughout the day, the historic Porchester Hall will host six runway sessions featuring independent brands and emerging designers from different countries. The new season continues London Fashion Day’s commitment to supporting creative talent and developing an international professional community. Odessa Fashion Day is among the event’s international partners.

This year’s concept goes beyond the traditional presentation of new collections. It explores questions that are becoming increasingly relevant to the contemporary fashion industry: how can we maintain a connection with cultural heritage, what role should technology play in creativity, and what will today’s designers leave to future generations? London Fashion Day invites its audience to consider fashion as an ongoing conversation between the past, present and future, with people remaining at the centre of it.

PAST. PRESENT. NEXT.: Fashion as a Conversation Between Generations

Fashion has always been a conversation between generations. Every silhouette, collection and creative decision carries echoes of the past: cultural traditions, personal memories, artistic movements, craftsmanship and ideas that acquire new meaning over time. Today, this conversation is becoming increasingly complex. Technology is changing the ways art is created and experienced, digital culture is establishing new rhythms, and the fashion industry finds itself in a constant state of anticipation. Every season demands new ideas, new images and new names. Yet amid this relentless pursuit of what comes next, an important question emerges: what happens to everything that came before us?

The history of dress, classical influences, artisanal traditions and cultural heritage are far more than records of the past. They form the foundations upon which the language of contemporary fashion has developed. The faster the industry changes, the more important it becomes to maintain a meaningful connection with these foundations. A new generation of designers has unprecedented opportunities for creativity and self-expression, yet access to technology and information does not automatically bring a deeper understanding of cultural context. In a world where almost anything can be created, reproduced or transformed within seconds, understanding why something is created and what its author wishes to express becomes increasingly important. Fashion risks losing not its ability to surprise, but something far more significant: depth, individuality and an emotional connection with people.

These reflections form the foundation of PAST. PRESENT. NEXT. The three words defining London Fashion Day’s eighth season represent more than a sequence in time. PAST refers to cultural memory, heritage, craftsmanship and traditions that continue to shape contemporary fashion. PRESENT represents the meeting point between tradition and technology, where designers search for their own identity amid an endless flow of visual information. NEXT is dedicated to a new generation, new names and ideas, and above all, the question of what kind of fashion we wish to pass on. The project does not ask designers to choose between tradition and innovation. Instead, it invites them to explore the space between the two. True originality does not always begin by rejecting the past; sometimes, it emerges from the ability to see it differently.

Porchester Hall: When History Becomes Part of the Runway

The eighth season of London Fashion Day will take place at Porchester Hall, a historic venue in Bayswater, within the City of Westminster. Opened in 1929, the hall has been part of London’s cultural life for almost a century. Its architecture, preserved interiors and history of performances, gatherings and creative events make it particularly suited to a season exploring the relationship between generations. The choice of venue is a natural extension of the new season’s philosophy, in which cultural heritage is not simply a decorative backdrop but an integral part of the contemporary creative conversation.

On 8 November, different generations of creative thought will come together within its walls. In a setting that holds decades of cultural history, designers from different countries will present collections shaped by their experiences, artistic perspectives and individual understanding of contemporary fashion. For London Fashion Day, this represents more than a change of venue. Every new generation adds another chapter to the history it has inherited, and history is not only what we preserve, but also what we continue to create.

London Fashion Day and Opportunities for the Next Generation of Designers

Since launching in London in 2023, London Fashion Day has developed as an independent platform supporting emerging designers and new creative talent. The project is organised by AK Brand Development Studio under the joint leadership of Kostiantyn Lieontiev and Andrii Karakushan. The team continues to build an international environment where creativity, cultural exchange and professional opportunities come together. Designers have the opportunity to present their collections in a professional setting, attract the attention of industry representatives and the press, establish new connections and take the next steps in developing their brands.

For an emerging designer, creating a collection is only the beginning. Finding resources, organising a runway show, gaining access to professional contacts and presenting work to an audience beyond a studio or educational institution can be equally challenging. London Fashion Day aims to make this journey more accessible by creating opportunities for talent to be recognised, regardless of an established reputation. The platform does not seek to decide who will become the next major name in fashion. Its purpose is to give emerging creatives an opportunity to be seen, express their individual artistic vision and begin a meaningful conversation with the industry.

“We cannot decide who will become the next important name in fashion. But we can make sure that talent has a chance to be noticed. Sometimes, all an emerging designer needs is someone willing to open the door.”

— Kostiantyn Lieontiev, founder of London Fashion Day.

The Official Season 8 Campaign: Emerging Talent Takes Centre Stage

The philosophy of PAST. PRESENT. NEXT. is also reflected in the official campaign for the eighth season. Rather than featuring already established names, London Fashion Day deliberately placed emerging talent at the centre of its campaign, offering young creatives an opportunity to participate in a professional fashion production. The campaign features a design by Gabrielle Nitu, a student at London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA), worn by a young model from Nigeria who is beginning her journey on the London fashion scene. This decision reflects one of the platform’s guiding principles: emerging creatives should not have to wait for widespread recognition before being given an opportunity to work in a professional environment.

The campaign was created by director and videographer Dinara Ostr, who translates the ideas of the season into a contemporary visual language through movement, form and transformation. Campaign photography was produced by Mariana Zabramna, with make-up by @makeup.byandzelika. The producers were Andrii Karakushan and Kostiantyn Lieontiev. The featured look was designed by Gabrielle Nitu and presented by model @thee_aitch_o. The London Fashion Day team also extends its appreciation to YourSpace for its hospitality and support during the shoot. The collaboration with London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) will continue on the runway, with a presentation of students’ work opening the eighth season.

Season 8 Designers and the International Character of the Event

The eighth season of London Fashion Day will open with a showcase by students of London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA). Collections will also be presented by Tiarael Fashion, STUDIO CATA, Heymers Education, Erzindjan’s, Tasha Ivy, NILDET, SHICHO, SULITUDE, Yanou Santangelo, NIKA and LEV3L UP. The different creative approaches of these designers and independent brands reflect the international character of the platform and the diversity of contemporary fashion. For some participants, the season will mark their first introduction to a London fashion audience; for others, it will be a continuation of their professional development and an opportunity to build new international connections.

In this context, London is more than the location of a runway show. It becomes a meeting place for cultures, creative disciplines, personal stories and professional experiences. Within the concept of PAST. PRESENT. NEXT., the relationship between designers and their heritage takes on particular significance. National identity, family histories, traditional techniques and personal experiences can all become starting points for new forms of creative expression. At the same time, London Fashion Day does not impose a single aesthetic or require participants to interpret the season’s theme according to a predetermined approach. Diversity of perspectives and creative independence remain fundamental values of the platform.

Technology and the Future of Fashion: Why the Human Voice Still Matters

One of the central questions of the eighth season concerns the place of the individual in a rapidly changing creative industry. Digital tools, artificial intelligence, innovative materials and new production methods are influencing how fashion is conceived, developed and experienced. These technologies create new possibilities, but their development should not replace creative thought. Behind every collection is a person — their experience, emotions, knowledge, cultural identity and individual perspective on the world. It is this human experience that gives design meaning beyond the speed of production or the technologies used to create it.

“We live in an era when technology allows us to create almost anything, yet increasingly we must ask ourselves whether we understand what we are creating and why. I believe it is particularly important for emerging designers to maintain a connection with history, classical influences, culture and craftsmanship. Not to repeat the past, but to have something meaningful upon which to build something new. The future of fashion cannot be based solely on speed and technology. There must still be room for human thought, individuality and soul.”

— Kostiantyn Lieontiev.

For London Fashion Day, technology is not the opposite of tradition. It is a tool whose value ultimately depends on the depth of an idea, the creative vision and the intention behind it. It is through the interaction between past and present that a future of fashion can emerge without losing its connection to human experience. PAST. PRESENT. NEXT. does not attempt to predict what the fashion industry will look like in the decades ahead. Instead, it invites us to consider what we inherit, what we create today and what cultural value we will leave to future generations.

“We are not here to predict the future of fashion. We are here to create space for those who will shape it.”
